A hand-written font inspired by the medieval Scottish Gaelic region of Arasgain (now known as Erskine)

Arasgain is the calligraphy inspired typeface developed by myself and Ashton Ghion for DXB302 at QUT. What started as an accident of dripping ink sloppy strokes became a wild and rugged variation on a traditional formal hand-written style. As well as developing the individual glyphs and kerning, we also had to find a way to print the typeface by hand to create an A3 poster. A digitally designed and printed A3 poster was created to compliment this and emphasise the concept behind our type design. Download Arasgain for personal use (only) here
